A Few Excellent Internet Marketing Blogs

January 2nd, 2008 | 9 comments

Now that the holidays are over it seems like everything is beginning to get back to normal. While I work on other projects and crunch some numbers for the upcoming tax returns (or tax payment for some of us) I want to give a little exposure to a few deserving blogs.

There are many deserving blogs, but I’ve linked out to many of those that I regularly read already. Below are a few that I recently started reading and really enjoy, so be sure to stop by and leave a comment.

Terry Heath’s Online Entrepreneur’s Journey Blog (RSS Feed) - I ran into Terry a while back on the Warrior Forum. He’s a writer and marketer who impressed me with a very nice looking PHPbb setup on a forum/article directory. He also installed and setup this very blog for me back when I had no idea what blogging was all about! So, be sure to visit his blog and check out his awesome, new blog theme.

Ruck’s Online Marketing Blog (RSS Feed) - I came across Ruck’s blog a while back, but for one reason or another I forgot to bookmark it. He ended up making a few comments on this blog, which reminded me of his blog. After digging into his musings, I realized he’s actually a very knowledgeable guy. He even has a very nice looking Internet Marketing Forum with many posts and I know how difficult it can be to get a forum going.

[removed] - One who seems to be a little too arrogant for my taste.

Take a look, comment, subscribe to their RSS feeds and learn a little while you’re at it ;)

I checked these out tonight. Terry Heath’s blog was a nice surprise. Refreshing style. Good content. I might consider subscribing once I see some more from him. Glad you mentioned it.

The other two didn’t appeal to me as much. ‘Nuff said.

I know…I’m never this brief, am I? LOL…maybe it’s a New Year, and I’ve turned over a new leaf. Or maybe there are times one should just shut up and go back to work. At least I’m TRYING to learn. ;-)

@Chuck Brown: Okay, now I’m blushing.

@Josh: I like posts such as this one because they so often lead me to treasures. I didn’t have time earlier today, but now I’m off to check out the other two sites . . . as well as the one in your “Helping” post.

Terry is a pretty sharp guy. His new blog theme is great as well. I have faith that my graphics guy is going make mine equally as remarkable.

Both Ruck and Gary seem to be pretty good guys with alot of good info to share. To each his own and I know Chuck is picky ;)

    Hey Josh,

Thanks for the plug, although I think I may upset some of your “whitey” readers LOL. But it is much appreciated man.

Also, I have added you to my like to read blogs. I am going to revamp it actually with an entire page and an excerpt about each blog. You might check out that anchor text and if you want something else, just let me know.

Hope the New Year is off to a great start from you,

    Ruck

So now I’m a “whitey” reader? LOL…I don’t think I’ve been referred to that way before…actually, that’s not a bad description on some levels. And I can pretty much guarantee that I’ve been referred to as much worse. ;-)

OK…so brevity can also look like a potshot sometimes. I will be slightly more verbose.

There’s a place for a lot of different kinds of people and personal styles in the world. I will say that I felt like Ruck had a strong emphasis on content. It looked like some stuff was there that I might benefit from…but, there were some issues there that would keep me from returning on a regular basis. Mostly, they were stylistic. Some were areas that I would describe as more in the areas of business ethics.

But, whether I’d be “whitey” to Ruck’s “ghetto” style, or “whitey hat-ty” to his scrappier “black-hattier” style…the label might well fit. He reminds me a bit of Shoemoney…someone else whom I respect for what he has accomplished (especially with AuctionAds), but to whom I no longer subscribe for two reasons: I’m no longer comfortable with his approach stylistically, and the angles he takes mostly don’t apply to my business model.

Nonetheless, a tip o’ the (white) hat to ya, Ruck. ;-)

lol Can’t we all just get along?

@Ruck, no problem at all and thanks for the link!

@Chuck, well nothing wrong with your views there. I think Ruck may go into the grey area a bit, but he seems like a pretty good guy who is knowledgeable as well.

So Ruck is Ghetto, Chuck is Whitey and I’m the Hick, which I suppose is also classified as “whitey” (southern Indiana) lol actually I’m none of the above. I’m just an average guy with a weird country accent (Army buddies used to say so anyway) ount believe em a tall though. I aint got no kinda accent.

    No probs Chuck,

Thanks for the white hat tip, I tip mine to you as well :)

I may be a hick as well Josh.

Only if that includes living in Southeastern Kansas in a town of 700 people.
I was born in Oklahoma with family in Arkansas as well :)

700 people? You must be one those city-slickers :)
