Blogging to Save Children - Please Read
September 14th, 2007 | 4 commentsYou’ll probably never see another post I write that states “Please Read,” but I felt this one deserved every possible tactic to get people to read it.
Many of you know, or at least know of, Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian. Dr. Mani is one of the most well-known Internet Marketing “gurus” online. He’s also a pediatric heart surgeon and one heck of great person!!
Dr. Mani is well known for his many achievements in the Internet Marketing community, but he’s equally known for his outstanding efforts in helping children with Congenital Heart Disease get the surgery procedures they need to above all LIVE and to extend those lives as long as possible so that they may have a chance of a normal, happy life.
I’ve always been very emotional when it comes to children that are born with diseases and conditions that prevent them from living a normal life that some of us take for granted, so I always try to help in any way that I can to save the lives of these children.
In 2003 Dr. Mani started what he calls the “Heart Kids Blogathon.” This “blogathon” is held about this time every year and it’s purpose is to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disease and to raise money to fund the life saving surgery that these poor children need to live!
This years blogathon starts this Saturday, September 15th at http://www.chdinfo.com/blogathon/blog/
During the blogathon, Dr. Mani posts to his blog every 30 minutes, non-stop, for 24 hours straight. The posts are always extremely valuable and all he asks is for you (us) to take part.
There are many ways in which you can help:
1. You can blog about it, as I am doing this very minute.
2. You can Digg (digg.com) the blogathon, Stumble it or use any of your favorite social bookmarking sites to help spread the word.
3. You can make a donation to the “Dr.Mani Children’s Heart Foundation” at http://www.chdinfo.com/chdaware/donate.htm
4. You can comment on his frequent posts during the blogathon.
If you can’t do any of the above, I hope you can at least mention these unfortunate children in your prayers!
Here’s the blogathon link again, hope to see you there!

Thanks for the info Josh. I will check it out. Dr Mani is obviously dedicated to his work. Surgeons do so much for people to begin with and he is definitely going the extra mile.

No problem at all Dr. Mani. Did I get the URL correct? I was a little confused with which page/blog was the actual blogathon. I’m sure it can easily be found though if the link isn’t correct.
