New Milestones and a New Theme
October 6th, 2007 | 6 comments*edit* As you can see the new theme is up, although there are still a few tweaks that need to be made.
Yep, I know this theme didn’t last long, but I’m just not happy with it. You can barely see links with the colors I’m using unless I bold them and I think I’m ready for a dual sidebar. Of course I could change the link colors etc. through CSS and I suppose I could probably add another row to the sidebar, but I’m ready for change anyway. The new theme I’ll be using is the Cleaker theme used by Vlad at the Affiliate Marketing Blog and Dev at the Daily Moolah Make Money Online Blog, but it will of course have it’s own unique look and feel.
Plus, the blog hit 100 RSS readers yesterday, it received 300+ unique visitors and the rankings are improving. That means it’s a good time for a new theme, header; the works.
I’m not sure if I’ll have it up today, tomorrow or Monday, but it’ll be up very soon so come back and check it out!
I want to thank all of you, who regularly visit and contribute and also those who so graciously send link love this way. It is noticed and very much appreciated! I try to return the favor as much as possible. If I haven’t yet, I will sometime in the future.

Hey Josh
Nice job, it looks really smart! Certainly an improvement over the old look, I’m impressed and sure this redesign will help you pull in a lot more readers. Nice.
BTW, there’s an email on its way to you, and you may want to check the blog’s latest entry for a little surprise

Hi Josh,
I really like the theme, however I have noticed some strange things happening in regards to Technorati since I have started to use this theme. Of course as you can see I stripped the them of all the background images for faster load time.
One thing that I love about this theme is how clearly everything marked in CSS file. Is your theme “widgetized”? I had to switch to a “non-widgetized” version to eliminate CPU overloads.
But after everything is said and done, I really like the theme. By the way, threaded comments work real well with this theme without much modification.

@Maurice, Thanks for the great compliments, I’m pretty happy with it as well. Thanks for the prize as well
@Vlad, can you tell me what kind of issues yo had with Technorati? It seems to be loading pretty fast on my end so hopefully I’ll be good with the images. I’ll keep it in mind though, thanks! I saw your post on threaded comments and I plan on adding that plugin soon. I did go with the widgetized theme, but I’m not using the plugin, so I’ll probably end up switching as well.
Thanks again,
Josh

Josh,
I would stay with widgets if I were you as long as it does not give you CPU issues, and then it may not be the cause- in my case it was just an educated guess and I still am not sure what causes CPU overloads it may be a combination of things.
It will take long time to explain the Technorati issue. Take a look at this:
http://www.technorati.com/blogs/www.volodymyrzablotskyy.com?reactions
Technorati counts several of my blog posts as entire separate blogs(websites). It really gotten bad when I started to use this theme. But again things are really screwed over there these days.
I am still going to stay with this theme, at least until next MAJOR update.

Look very good. Although the header is hyperlinked
I usually just click on you or the header up there to return home (yep, its a habit).

Thanks, I do the same thing. Once I get everything figured out and complete I’ll link up the header. The header itself is going to be tweaked as well using a darker shade of blue and a different font for the subtitle.
