Bad Link Exchange Requests

July 27th, 2007 | 2 comments

I don’t do many link exchanges anymore but if I get a genuine request, and the site looks hopeful, I sometimes accept them. Here is one that I realllllly don’t understand.

Here’s an email I just received:

“Good day, My name is Jaime, Owner of [removed]. I will want to comprise of your options to make money within your Web, also I want to speak of your Web in our Web, to construct something more that simple links. I am will wait to your answer. greetings and thanks. [removed]”

I get these emails all day everyday. I normally just delete them and move on but sometimes, when I don’t have time to be wasted, it really gets to me.

So I try to figured out what these guys are doing. Are they sincere but just can’t speak English very well? Nothing wrong with that but if they can barely speak English they may be wasting their time. I mean, you don’t have to speak PERFECT English, but it does have to make sense.

Are they sending the exact same thing to thousands of email address’s that they’ve purchased? Who knows!

When it comes down to it, they’ve just wasted their time and the time of everyone who read the email. They may get a few newbies that don’t know any better to exchange links, but will the link even help him? I HIGHLY doubt it.

Anyway, I know it’s not a big issue, just one of those small things that gets to me at times. That’s my “rant” for the week.

Know what you mean, Josh. What gets me too is CJ advertisers. They’ll want me to sign up for their affiliate programs about something totally unrelated to my site(s).

Yeah, I receive many request like these as well.

I just press delete… Anyway, reciprocal linking is not the rage anymore, it’s much better to use a blog on your main domain and get one way natural links.
