21 Valuable Online Money Makers, Tools and Resources

September 7th, 2007 | 8 comments

Associated Content - Submit articles with either exclusive or non-exclusive rights and get paid for it. This is a great money maker for those who are looking to make some extra money on the side but aren’t necessarily looking to make a career online. The payout is approximately $7 per article paid through PayPal. Unfortunately, Associated Content is for U.S. residents only.

uLinkx - Search for video on several different video sharing sites. This is a neat social media site where you can search, view and share video clips and save them to your own play list.

IBP SEO Software - There is no software on the planet that can guarantee you top SE rankings, but IBP is the only one that could almost make that guarantee. This software analyzes the top 10 rankings on all the major SE’s and compares them to your site. Once it analyzes and compairs, it tells you what you need to do in order for your site to be similar to those with top 10 rankings. It also provides an easy to submit to list of web directories etc. It’s a little pricey but it’s well worth it. I’ve been using it for about a year now and I’ve seen some very good results!

Copyscape - Insert a URL (free version) or copy and paste text ($0.05 per search) to see if it’s been plagiarized. They also offer “Copysentry,” which goes for about $4/month and will send you email alerts when your content has been plagiarized. I use copyscape on a daily basis to to prevent PLR content and articles that have been mass submitted to hundreds of sites into my new article directory.

GahooYoogle - Search for any given search term on Google and Yahoo simultaneously via split screen results.

GigaSize - Email large files without the size restrictions. If you’ve ever dealt with customers who received a bad download link and you didn’t want to send them to the static page, where they can share it on forums etc. but your damn email provider wouldn’t allow files to be sent that were that large, you should try GigaSize. Just upload your file and send it out. Very simple and very valuable.

nofollow highlight - This is a Firefox plugin that highlights every link that contains the rel=”nofollow” attribute with a pink background. You’ll need to have the Greasemonkey Firefox extension for this to work. This is very useful if you do alot of blogging and you’re looking for blogs that pass pagerank in their comments. It’s also a great way to analyze your own sites to prevent pagerank leakage. If you don’t know what rel=”nofollow” is, it’s an attribute that many add to links that prevents those links from receiving pagerank from their page.

StartForce - Have your own online desktop just like the one on your computer. StartForce is a free web-based desktop that you can access anywhere in the world. This can be used in creative ways as well. If you want to send a file to a friend of yours but you don’t want to deal with attaching it to an email etc., just drop it onto your StartForce desktop and send him the password. Of course that’s for close friends that you trust ;)

Google Trends - This is one of the resources you should be using when doing keyword research for your pages and articles. With Google Trends you can compare up to 4 search terms and see the popularity in different Countries, Cities and Languages. You can also view the recent news releases for any given keyword and with their new Hot Trends, you can see what terms are hot right now.

Google Analytics - This is the most advanced analytics tool I’ve ever used and it’s free to boot. Insert a simple line of code into all your pages and Google analytics will provide you with page views, traffic sources, geographical data, user browser data, bounce rates and much more.

Host Tracker - Insert your URL and Host-Tracker will check 52 different ISP’s across the World to see if your site is up and running, as well as provide the response time and page size. They also provide free email alerts that will let you know if your site goes down anywhere across the World.

Search Status Firefox Extension - Display any given pages Google Pagerank, Alexa Traffic Rank and Compete ranking all in one. This extension can also highlight rel=”nofollow” attributes and show back-links for any page. This is a very nice extension to see analyze the ranking of each page without jumping through hoops to do so.

SpyFu - This is an awesome tool for those of you who do alot of SEM and run several PPC campaigns. SpyFu is a Search Engine, but it’s not your typical engine. With spyfu you enter your search term and it returns a plethora of real-time analytics for that term, current adwords results, the price you can expect to pay when running a PPC campaign targeting that keyword, organic results, related terms, the number of advertisers competing for that term and much more!

Pingoat= - Fill in your blog’s information and with the click of a button Pingoat will ping 27+ pinging sites letting them know that your blog (rss) has been updated.

Warrior Forum - By far the #1 Internet Marketing forum on the Internet today. The Warrior Forum (Founded by Allen Says) has been online since 1997 and is very well known as a hang out for some of the biggest online marketers such as Mike Filsaime, John Reese, Willie Crawford, Dr. Mani and many others. Valuable information flows freely there and it’s a great place to find JV partners as well. Look for me there UN- Josh Spaulding

Warrior Special Offers Forum
- This is a forum inside the Warrior Forum where marketers have been making thousands of dollars for years now. I’ve sold 10 page reports there and brought in over $1,000.00 off one WSO. If you have a great idea for a report, or product in general, this is the place to go to get a nice start. It’s also a great place to find specialty products. Just be selective and make sure the “Warrior” you purchase from has somewhat of a reputation. Although it doesn’t happen often, there have been a few “shady” WSO’s in the past.

No Nofollow | I Follow | DoFollow Community - This is a bumpzee community, created by Andy Beard, that contains 375+ blogs that use the dofollow plugin to pass pagerank to contributers. If you’re an honest blogger this is a great place to contribute and build relationships, as well as get some valuable link juice. If you’re a spamming idiot don’t waste your time. The blogs in this community are heavily moderated. That means even manual spam is weeded out so don’t waste your time.

SEOBook’s Google Gadgets - These gadgets extract allot of great data that you can use for your own SEO. You can also embed these gadgets onto your own pages to share with others. I’ve just recently come across these tools but I’ll be using them more in the future.

OnlyWire - One of the most useful Social Bookmarking tools, OnlyWire submits the pages you want to 22 of the best Social Bookmarking sites on the web. Just sign up, insert your login details for each of the sites one time, drag and drop a button into your FireFox browser and bookmark your pages with the click of a button.

The Free Library - A little known resource where you can submit articles, news and guides and add links to you sites along with them. With a Google PR7, this is an extremely valuable resource for article marketers.

Some good stuff there, Josh. I am especially intrigued by Link XL. I was familiar with John Lessnau, but hadn’t been keeping track of his recent stuff since Link Adage. I will definitely be checking that one out. Thanks for the tip!

It’s a good one. He got me going on it before it even really launched and I sold several links right away. LinkXL should really take off pretty soon. (Surprised it hasn’t already)

btw, just stopped by your blog again. I really like your template. I think mine is somewhat eye-catching but I’m thinking about having one custom built, as I assume yours is? (hopefully I’m not speaking to the wrong Chuck :) )

Nope…all mine are freely available ones online. I’ve just had really good luck finding things that were unique. I usually try to mess around with them just a bit to make them a little more special…but they are probably less customized in that way than you’d think. Things have gotten more complicated, though, now that Matt Mullenweg made the decision to kick all the sponsored blog themes off the Wordpress themes site. Makes it MUCH harder to find great ones. Frankly, THAT’s a business opportunity (a killer themes site, searchable, open to everyone) that it’s hard to believe no one has picked up yet.

I’ve got several blogs going now:

    http://spiffles.com
    http://freemusicgroup.com
    http://recommendables.chuckbrown.com
    http://braindump.chuckbrown.com

I’m pretty happy with the “look” of all of them.

A quick trip around the blogosphere (9/9/07)…

Mike Sansone of Converstations introduces us to what he calls our blog’s baseball card, a new tool called Xinu that lets you check all your web stats at a glance. Josh Spaulding put together an extensive list of on-line tools and resources. My favorit…
