Adsense Isnt Always the Best Money Maker
July 9th, 2007 | 10 commentsWe all know that adsense can create a very nice income. There are many people out there who claim day and night that “adsense is dead” but most of these guys want something for nothing.
The truth is it works in many cases but NOT all!!
For instance, I’ve been running Adsense as the primary monetization on the main site at http://ez-onlinemoney.com/ ever since it was created. Now the site is ranking fairly well. It’s been going back and fourth between page one and page two on google for some pretty competitive keywords like “make money online” and “make money at home” for a few months now.
I didn’t even think about it until my buddy Jeff Schuman pointed it out, but I could be making allot more money while ranking high for these keywords by promoting some good multi-tier programs that will in turn make my viewers more money as well.
I haven’t implemented the program that I have chosen yet but be assured you will read about it in the very near future.
My point is, whether it’s promoting a multi-tier program, a good affiliate program or something else, there are alternatives to Google adsense that very well may convert much better!

Also, one good thing about not using AdSense on a legit money making site is that AdWords advertisers who bid on “make money online” type keywords are mainly scam artists.
But yeah… I think you’re right that you can make more off the two-tier affiliate programs. You could also think about affiliate programs with recurring commissions.
Cool post, Joshua.

I concur. I think the days of making really large profits with Google Adsense are over. Plus, the fact that Google may implement CPA instead of pure PPC may suck the life out of a lot of people’s sites that rely on Adsense income.
Just like the physical world, all IM’ers should diversify to remain in business. There are other ways to make money & if you spread your eggs into different baskets you should do fine.

I can’t stand adsense, I pretty much lost money with Google’s program.

Yeah its best not to put all your eggs into 1 basket when there’s so many alternative and complementary ways of making money out there.
Adsense has been very kind to guru’s like joel comm, but this guy’s got loads of websites and blogs and has got his hands in many pie’s so to speak.Plus he has an office full of staff working for him”.

I have found that in trying to monetize my blog that the easiest way to
build income is through referring visitors to programs that have no cost and
require minimal time and make them money. This is much more efficient than
adsense and other afiiliate programs.
Two programs that fit this criteria and have worked extremely well for me
are:
Obopay

and
AGLOCO

Let me know what you think.

Personally, I own a site that allows you to make easy money online and I can say that adsense if of no help at all,
if you have a very specific subject, I suggest you take a look at AzoogleAds
it really made miracles for me.
Hope it can help someone and that you’re not pissed off I put my referal, it’s really an honnest call I’m making here

I wouldn’t say it’s useless. I make a nice income from adsense on my network of sites combined. My only point is that for some sites you can make much more.

“My only point is that for some sites you can make much more.”
That’s what I think as well. AdSense isn’t good for certain sites, but can make you a lot on other types. I did a followup podcast on this article with added thoughts the other day, so that’s what I think.

Seems like if someone really has adsense figured out, they could help others learn the best way to do it, or even get it done for them and not charge anything, but only take a percentage of their income. Anyone know of this or have thoughts as to why this would or wouldn’t work?
The multi-tier program I’m in is great, and I have put a system to it that makes it even better. It’s just hard for me to figure out how to promote it properly and incorporate ads to make more. I have a few more programs that are good, but to me there is nothing better than free and the simplicity and wide use of this one makes it have the greatest potential.
