Still Think Google is Evil?

August 28th, 2007 | No comments

We all know allot about Google, some seem to think they know everything about them and their algorithm, others like myself, have a good understanding of how they work when it comes to SEO and SEM but do we really know what Google is all about.

Not too many people know about Google.org and their selfless mission to actually help the world, unlike so many other huge corporation, which seem to care only about money.

As I’ve stated before, I’m not here to kiss anyones ass but I do respect the company as a whole, although there are a few minor things I do not agree with. I honestly believe that Google was built on a moral base. Larry Page and Serge Brin, Google’s founders, may very well, whether directly or indirectly, save thousands of lives and make this world a better place to live.

If you’ve read “The Google Story” you know that Google’s motto is “Don’t Be Evil.” Although many PPC advertisers may disagree, I believe they live by that motto.

Google is heavily participating in research etc. to help the worlds poverty, health care and the increasing effects of global warming. No to mention the fact that they have already created the worlds best information retrieval system, Google Search, which in itself is making the world a better place.

I guess the moral of the story is this — Whether we agree with certain methods they use when determining whether or not one of our pages comes up for a certain keyword, or the method they use to determine a pages quality score with adwords, is Google REALLY that evil? Will Larry Page and Serge Brin make a more positive effect on the world than you or I?
