I find that there isn't enough good content on his blog. For the amount he is making I would want way better content on how he is doing it.

@ Caroline, he does make a good deal of money with his blog, but he's just too arrogant for me. Alot of people like arrogance, but I don't. I like "real" people who are honest and not full of themselves. He may have a "hard working, caring, philanthropist" side. I just wish he would show that side more often than the arrogant (I'm god and I'm better than everyone) side.

@ Vern, it is some solid advice and it's nice to see a more moral side of him.

@ Chuck, that's a true statement. I'd imagine he isn't as bad as I once thought. There are still alot of things he's said that I strongly disagree with, but I suppose just because I disagree, doesn't make it wrong.

@YC, I guess it really all depends exactly how you're getting right. In some cases theres absolutely nothing wrong with that and in others there is.

@ Oliver, Yep that "free" report is used to get newsletter subscribers (not uncommon) but it's not bad. I do the same thing. Excellent quote btw.

Yes, John seems to have made a turn around. Anyway, he has a free manual about making money online. And yes, it is filled with affiliate links, but also with sound advice.
Anyway, In the words of Wallace Wattles: "You have to give to everybody MORE in use value than you take in cash value". Then you can get rich AND feel good about it.

There're just as many people who got rich first before finally giving. That's when they then really become 'rich', both in spirit and that green thing. ;)

I've never known John to care what people thought of him before...at least in his public persona...so I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he posted that for other reasons. And I agree with you...it's a very worthwhile message. Now if we could not only get more folks to think that way not only about money...but also about providing value with all their online ventures...I think we could see significant changes in the web the web is used and viewed. However, I'm not holding my breath at this point.

Hi Josh,

I checked the post out and I think its pretty cool.

Here's the nicer side of John Chow.

However, I found that yes, we really
do need to give before we actually receive.

The golden advice on "serving the masses"
really hit home for me.

Cheers,
Vern

I actually think there is a lot more to John than meets the eye. Every now and then he will mention things in his posts that hint at a true success story - a hard working, caring, philanthropist. Sure he makes a lot of money, but I admire him for that. The 'evil' brand is just that - branding. I think he sounds like a real nice guy.
