Thanks for tip nos 1 and 2. Unfortunately anything longer than Home will push my blogroll and contact link out of focus. So I've decided to use the title tag with my keyword instead. I've also found an ingenious way to link back to my home page from all my posts and pages. Thanks again.

Less I forget thanks for mentioning that "different SERPS are served for different geographical locations (IP’s)" COS I've been checking my ranking for keywords to my site and some of them ain't on the first page which had me wondering if my SE traffic had to wade through SERPS to get to my site.;).

Could you elaborate on this?
Every link on the internal pages, other than menus should be no follow?

- Insert the rel=”nofollow” attribute into all links (except for one link pointing back to your homepage, which contains your preferred anchor text) of every internal page of your site (excluding your html sitemap.)

This is good to know. I have been considering dropping my tagging strategy for a while and replacing it with the "related posts" on each post, with manual internal linking on posts using keywords in the post, in addition to my already existent category structure.

@ Dennis - I'm still torn on tags. I see benefits, but I also see more unneeded duplicate content to add to the loads WordPress already provides. I don't use them, but yes they would improve an internal linking structure. I like having a list of related posts on each post, categories, most popular posts and recent posts along with a few more links that I like... that makes for a pretty good, deep linking structure.

I have considered implementing some internal linking. Would tags be a good thing or a bad thing? Or would I just be better off creating manual links within the posts?

For a self-proclaimed SEO expert you seem to be lacking basic SEO knowledge... like different SERPS are served for different geographical locations (IP's)

So many SEO experts, so little proof ;) Here's my proof http://ez-onlinemoney.com/ Held a top 10 ranking for "make money online" (without quotes) for over 10 months and still holds a top 20 ranking... using this exact nofollow technique.

You may want to rely on your own trial and error in regards to SEO and throw away those old SEO ebooks ;)

P.S. It's not a good vote for credibility to leave two separate posts saying the same thing under a different name.

Hi Josh,
Really great post. But i have some doubt. You said "Insert the rel=”nofollow” attribute into all links (except for one link pointing back to your homepage, which contains your preferred anchor text) of every internal page of your site (excluding your html sitemap.)"

So if we add nofollow on all link through out site as per you said than each page got only one internal link from all site pages. So is it not bad?
As per my knowledge its also necessary to get increase internal link.
Please share your views regarding this.

Sorry mate, but “Insert the rel=”nofollow” attribute into all links (except for one link pointing back to your homepage, which contains your preferred anchor text) of every internal page of your site (excluding your html sitemap.)” This sentence is totally inproper. Every internal pages need inside outbound links in as many number it can, and by giving noffow to all links except home leads to a great internal linking erroneous structure.
This is true for big sites as well as small sites.
Thank you.
