More SEO Mistakes - Video Bashing my First Website
September 30th, 2007 | 4 commentsUnless you’re brand new to developing sites you probably won’t learn much from this short video, but you can make fun of my very first Website (created about 3 years ago) at the very least
I have no idea why it’s appearing way down there below the social networking links, oh well it works anyway.
Enjoy!

Nice video Josh. Fun to look back on old websites and see how far we have come

Hey thanks, it sure is. I have so many sites that need work it’s actually a little depressing at times lol. One thing that really excites me is when I find one thats getting decent traffic but has adverts in bad spots. I love increasing my CTR and watching the earnings skyrocket on these old domains.

Josh,
How quickly does Google transfer the link juice? And how quickly does it kill the link juice to the old url? (I’m trying to decide whether I should redirect my knitting blog to a better url before or after the winter knitting season!)

Hi Lucia,
I’m no expert on redirects, but as far as I know once Google finds the redirect command, all rankings, traffic etc. are transfered to the new URL and as long as the redirect exists, the link attributions and ranking should be passed to the new URL so the link juice would be killed instantly.
Like I said I’m no expert on this and someone may very well prove otherwise, but that’s my understanding.
Andy would probably be the best person to ask. I believe he completely transfered his blog from blogger to it’s own domain a while back.
