@ Doug - Make sure your page is named with a .php extension. If you have already done that, it may be your server isn't setup to run php. That is very doubtful though.

the php redirect didn't work for me. I just got a webpate with the redirect code on it. For example the page had :

across the top. I used my Clickbank hop link in place of the dummy url.

any suggestions on what went wrong?

Jason

I have been using HTML redirects and also frame redirects (also a type of HTML redirect). However recently a friend reported that his PHP redirects "seemed" to work faster than HTML.

I realised this is probably true becuase PHP is executed at "the server" before the results are returned to your browser. But HTML first gets served up to your PC and is then executed by "your browser" which adds further delay.

So for simple redirects, it seems that PHP works faster. I haven't tested this yet but will do at some point in the near future.

I hope this helps

In regards to the questions above, sorry I can't help you guys. I'm not a very technical person and do simple redirects myself. That's why I found someone to write the post who does :)

@ Noria - In the case of my Article Post Robot link that person will lose a huge discount I worked out for them.

With affiliate links in general the affiliate will still earn the commission, whether the affiliate details are deleted front he URL or not, in most cases, because most affiliate programs set cookies in your system.

Hi Josh, in the Personally Recommended section of your blog - you promoted Article Post Robot using a Redirect link. However, when I clicked on the link and it takes me to the APR website, your affiliate details are laid bare. What happens if a potential buyer deletes your affiliate code from the APR site before making a purchase? Will you still get your commission? I am asking because I read somewhere before that once the APR site is launched, your affiliate linked will be "cookied", and thus your commission is "protected" even if the buyer removes your affiliate code before buying. Is this true Josh? Thanks

For a simple redirect script, which one is better - one which ends with a html or a php?

Just redirect to the URL that you've been given by your affiliate manager.

I'm 99.9% sure that you'll be fine.

Does anyone know, when you do a redirect, can the affiliate program manager tell what url the click came from or is the original referral data stripped once it is redirected?
